Student living platform Housr has secured £7.5 million in private funding to speed up product development and expand its reach in the UK and US.

The funding round was backed by Ashta Capital and Juniper Equity, two Texas-based firms that invest in fast-growing businesses.

Founded in 2021 by Harry Panter and Ben Clayton while they were students at the University of Manchester, Housr has grown its revenue by 186% year-on-year. The company aims to modernise student housing with technology.

Its free app has evolved into a digital hub for student life, bringing together rentals, local discounts, roommate matching and ride-sharing in one place.
